The methodology in creating and developing the Ecosystem Tracker database included:

• A process of identification – verifying lists of lawtech companies from our data sources (data pulled May & September 2023) and applying exclusionary criteria based on activity, UK operations, lawtech-specific ventures, acquisitions and type of business (e.g. consultancies were not included).
• A process of categorisation – utilising the Oxford Venture Ecosystem Taxonomy (OVET), the key dimensions of the taxonomy were applied to classify each lawtech company, and further validate the inclusion of each company.
